Don’t forget to BACK UP!

Pretty much all your university studies will be digital these days – many many benefits, but one has to be aware of the downsides: file corruption, accidental deletion, files inexplicably lost in the ether.

Whatcha gonna do?

Make sure you back up regularly!

Make sure to regularly save your work on the computer you are using, and save a copy to multiple areas for fallback protection. These include (but are not limited to) USB sticks, email accounts, online storage services, backup hard drives.

SOAPS get up and go!

First meeting of SOAPS this semester – Friday 19th August, Room 8.101 at 1500hrs.

We’ll be introducing the society, getting some social and professional events going, and get our new committee going!

What we need from you? Involvement! Think of things that you would like to do, would like to see, what you could contribute, and how to organise it all. Up for election is a whole new committee, consisting of:

• President
• Vice-President
• Secretary
• Treasurer
• SPA representative
• Year Level representatives
• Marketing and Events coordinator

Getting involved is fun, great for networking, and you’ll have a state and national team backing you up!

Give it some serious thought, we’ll be asking for nominations.

Afterwards we’ll be heading to the ECU tavern, of course!

EDIT: The unit on Friday is “PST1101 – Introduction to paramedical practice”, a first semester unit apparently. Everybody else is invited, though!
